Topic Proposal: Literary Nonsense is a very versatile genre and has often been known for its political and social commentary on the period it was written in, such as Alice and Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. Other literary nonsense books have been used as tools for teaching young children colors, words, and life lessons, such as Dr.Seuss. There are many faces to the literary genre of literary nonsense and I intend on bringing them to everybodys attention and explain them all in great detail. My focus will be on the importance of Literary Nonsense in our society and how it has influenced pop culture and the way everyday people think; This should hopefully prove to the school that a Literary Nonsense section is very much needed in Scotia-Glenville High School. To prove my focus true, I will connect these books and their authors to music, movies, and everyday ways of thinking.
